Branched structure analysis

Purpose

Branched structure analyses are useful for quantifying morphometric features and include the following analyses:

Neuron summary

Segment points

Each tree

Tree totals

Individual marker

Terminals

Individual tree

Terminal distance

Layer length

Tree intervals

Marker totals

Spines

Nearest terminal

Synapses

Nodes

Varicosities (Neurolucida 360 software only)

Procedure

  1. Select branched Structure Analysis from the Structure dropdown menu on the Analyze ribbon to open the Branched Structure Analyses window.

  2. Select desired analyses and click OK. Windows for each analysis selected will be displayed.

    • Select All Possible Analyses: All available Branched Structure analyses are performed. Available analyses vary depending on the types of structures selected.
    • Select No Analyses: Clears all selected analyses.
  3. To save and export the analyses to a single Excel file, click Current windows on the Analyze ribbon.
