Segment points (branched structure analysis)
Purpose
|
|
Segment points analysis provides quantitative data about individual branch segments. |
Analysis results
Tree: The dendrite the segment belongs to.
Centrifugal: The order of the branch the segment is located on.
Classification: The classification of the branch the segment is located on. If no classification was assigned while working in Neurolucida or Neurolucida 360, classification is blank.
Start X: The X coordinate of the start point of the segment.
Start Y: The Y coordinate of the start point of the segment.
Start Z: The Z coordinate of the start point of the segment.
End X: The X coordinate of the end point of the segment.
End Y: The Y coordinate of the end point of the segment.
End Z: The Z coordinate of the end point of the segment.
Point Type:
- BP: The beginning point of a segment (this is the origin point of the main branch for the first segment, and node points for all other segments).
- CP: A center point on a segment. It describes any point other than a beginning (BP) or an ending (EP).
- EP: The ending point of a segment. This will be either the point just before a node, or an actual branch end.
Length (µm): The distance between the point and the previous point (towards origin) on the segment.
Length to Beginning (µm): The distance between the point and the beginning point of the segment.
Start diameter (µm): The diameter of the segment at its starting point.
End diameter (µm): The diameter of the segment at its ending point.
Avg diameter (µm): The length-weighted mean diameter of the segment.
Surface area (µm²): The total surface area of the segment.
Volume (µm³): The total volume of the segment.
Spines: The number of spines located on the segment. With following columns breaking the spines down into spine types.
