Procedure
Enabling thickness
To display structures with thickness, do one of the following:

Click Thickness on the Registration ribbon. -
Go to File > Preferences > Tracing > View and check Display thickness.
When thickness is displayed, it may be helpful to increase the transparency of the tracing in order to see other structures. To adjust the transparency, go to File > Preferences > Tracing > View and use the slider under Tracing Transparency.

To adjust the size of the circular cursor do one of the following:

Scroll the mouse wheel.

Go to File > Preferences > Cursor > Diameter and enter a micron size in the text box, or use the up and down arrows next to the text box.
- Use the + and - keys on the numeric keyboard.
The lines you see are representations of three-dimensional cylinders and frusta (i.e., sections of a cone, like a cylinder, but tapered). When the 3-dimensional tracing is displayed on the flat screen, the result is a thick line if thickness is turned on.
