3. Set zoom level for counting

Procedure

By default, images are displayed at 100% (original) resolution. Use the buttons to zoom in or out as needed to facilitate counting.

The item to be marked is called a “profile” which corresponds to a unique point on the objects being counted. If counting cells, you can use the cell top as the unique point, but the top of the nucleus or nucleolus (provided that the nucleolus is unique to the cell) is a good alternative. We suggest that you zoom in until you can clearly discern the unique counting point.

Click the Zoom in (+) button to double the previous zoom level of the image.
Click the zoom out (-) button to double the field of view (the image will appear at half the previous zoom level).
Click the actual size (100%) button to display the image at its original resolution (1 px to 1px ratio).
