Slide scanning workflow

Requires a separate license

Purpose

Use the Slide Scanning workflow to scan at any magnification and create high-resolution 2D images or 3D stacks from multiple fields of view.

The workflow is designed to guide you through the process of directing your microscope system to methodically acquire image tiles, each representing a single field of view, of your slide and merging them to form an image or image stack that represents your entire slide or the portions of the slide selected for the slide scan.

We recommend using this slide scanning workflow because it includes more processing options and simplifies the process, however, the legacy scan-slides procedure remains available for those who need or prefer it.

Procedure

Before you start

Verify that your system has been properly calibrated to enable the acquisition of high-quality images.

Open the workflow by clicking Slide Scanning workflow on the Acquire ribbon.

Slide-scanning workflow steps

The workflow is dynamic; your choices determine which steps are included, and what information is requested and displayed. Because of this, the step numbers you see onscreen in Neurolucida may be different than those in the complete workflow described here.
