AutoSpine overview
AutoSpine is an automatic spine detection module. It only works on traced neurons.
It is generally designed for high-magnification images (60x, 100x) captured with a confocal microscope, and optionally deconvolved.
Does the tracing method matter?
AutoSpine works with both automatically and manually traced neurons.
If you are working with manually traced neurons, the thickness of the neurons doesn't need to be exact because AutoSpine performs an estimate of the thickness and saves it in the trace model.
How can I improve detection?
Improving imaging will contribute to improving the detection results. You may try to:
- decrease the size of the voxel
- increase signal contrast
- refine labeling
- perform post-acquisition adjustments such as deconvolution (Deconvolution overview)
