Loading images and image stacks for a montage
There are two options: opening sets of images (see procedure below) and opening image stacks (File>Open>Image stack).
Opening a set of images
- Click File>Open>In Grid Layout.
- Click a file name. Hold down the CTRL key to select non-contiguous files. Hold down the SHIFT key to select contiguous files.
- Click Open.
- If scaling information is not embedded in the image file, the Image Scaling and Placement dialog box opens; make the necessary adjustments.
Opening a set of images by dragging
- In Windows, open the folder containing your images and select the files.
- Drag the files to the tracing window.
- Select a loading option:
- Load all into a grid layout: Loads the images to create a single plane montage.
- Load individually: Use this option if you need to set scaling for each image.
- Load all into one stack: Loads all the images into one image stack.
- The Image Scaling and Placement dialog box opens if 1) scaling information is not embedded in the image file, 2) you selected Load individually; make the necessary adjustments.
- Click OK.
If you load an image for which there is no matching lens, you will be prompted to create a new lens to match the image scaling. See Creating a lens for help.
