Preferences: Registration

Purpose

The Registration preferences panel provides the option to use and save calibrations among all users of the NeuroInfo workstation or to use the calibration file associated with an individual User Profile.

The calibration file stores all calibrations that have been created; each includes several parameters, such as the selected reference-brain atlas, and specimen orientation and scaling information. Typically, users need one calibration for specimens from the same species that were processed and imaged using equivalent protocols.

Access Registration preferences from File > Preferences > Registration.

Registration settings

Use the global calibration file:

  • Check the box to share calibration files among all NeuroInfo users.

This setting may be preferred for NeuroInfo workstations used by only a few individuals, especially if they share images. When the box is checked, any NeuroInfo user can activate and/or change the calibrations set up by other users of the workstation.

  • Uncheck the box to limit the use of calibration files to the current User Profile.

This preference setting is useful for shared NeuroInfo workstations with multiple different users. Because only the calibration files for the current User Profile are displayed and saved, it can prevent users from accidentally overwriting or changing the calibrations set up by other users.
