Navigating by tree branches or vessel loops

Purpose

Navigation tools enable you to cycle through and highlight individual tree branches based on branch order, or individual vessel loops. This can be useful for visualization or analysis.

These tools can be found in the Navigate section of the View ribbon.

Procedure

Color by branch order order displays each branch order as a unique color which makes it useful for viewing branching patterns.

The default branch order type used in Neurolucida Exploreris known as centrifugal branch ordering. To select alternative branch order schemes for analysis and/or display, go to Preferences in the File menu and select Ordering.

Click Navigate by branch order to highlight each individual tree branch as you click Next branch order up/down or hover over parts of the tree. The branch order (primary, secondary, etc.) is indicated on the screen. Note that Color by branch order needs to be enabled to Navigate by branch order.

Click next branch order up/down to navigate through tree branches.

Enable Navigate loops to highlight individual loops based on the loop parameters defined in the Anastomoses analysis.

Click Previous/Next loop to navigate through individual vessel loops.
