Configuration Manager

Purpose

The Configuration Manager enables you to quickly and easily copy settings from the current profile to other profiles on the system. If you have multiple user profiles on a system, use the Configuration Manager to ensure that each profile has the correct lens, marker, contour, and other settings.

Initial setup

  • If the configuration manager button is disabled, contact your lab manager or MBF Technical Services to obtain the setup program that will enable the Configuration Manager.
  • Run the setup program. The setup program enables the Configuration Manager for NeuroInfo for all profiles using the current Windows login.
    • During the initial setup, you are prompted to create a password. Please be aware that this password is not encrypted.
    • If you have multiple Windows logins that require the use of the Configuration Manager, run the setup program once for each profile.
  • Once the Configuration Manager has been enabled by the setup program, press any key to close it.

Using the Configuration Manager

The Configuration Manager is password-protected to prevent users from accidentally overwriting other users’ settings .

  1. Click the Configuration Manager... button from File>About>System Settings.
  2. Enter your password and click OK. The Configuration Manager window opens.

Your current Windows user login, group, and profile are displayed in the top left corner of the window.

  3. Select the settings to copy (top right corner of the window).
    • Copy Lenses (default): Copy the most recent calibrations to other user profiles.
    • Copy INI Profiles: Use for profile settings (including stage setup, camera configuration, marker/contour names, and other information).
  4. Select the settings to copy.
    • To copy all the current profile's settings, use the Check All button.
    • To copy specific settings, check the relevant check boxes in the list of settings.

If you are unsure about the category to select from the list, type a keyword in the search bar and use the < > buttons to quickly skip through the current user settings.

  5. Select the profiles to configure from the list on the right. Configuration Manager overwrites the current profile for the selected settings.
    • Use the Selection Filter to filter profiles (for example, only profiles called “Monochrome” or “No Hardware”).
    • Click the + sign to expand the profiles and preview the existing settings.

Useful when, for example, you are setting up a new stage controller and want to copy the new controller to all of the profiles on the system except those who use the system only as a workstation (no stage). You can browse the profiles to see which have the stage set to manual.

  6. Click the Copy Checked Items button to copy the selected settings from the current profile to the selected profiles.

The Configuration Manager generates a backup copy of the target profile settings in the Configuration Manager Backups folder of your current profile.
