Open image stack
View the list of file types compatible BrainMaker and other MBF Bioscience software (PDF).
Requires separate licenseUse to open an image or an image stack (a single file containing multiple images) or a stack of confocal images.

An image stack combines multiple images into a single image file or collection.
The images that make up a single stack can be stored in a single multi-image file or in individual files.
Some image stacks contain scaling information that the program uses to determine the distances between images.
If your stacks don't have scaling information, you can enter the distances to use manually via the Image Scaling dialog box.

- Click File>Open>Image Stack.
- In the Image Stack Open dialog box, select files and click Open.
-
The Image Opener window opens.
Check the order of the files in the list (top to bottom) and, if necessary, drag them to different positions to indicate the correct stacking order.
- Click OK. The Image Scaling dialog box is displayed.
Since single image files do not contain Z spacing information, you need to enter a Z value manually.
- Click OK. The image stack is loaded.

- Click File>Open>Image Stack .
- In the Image Stack Open dialog box, select an image file, and click Open.
- Click OK. The program displays the Image Scaling dialog box.
Scaling information is required if it is not included in the image file.
- Click OK. The image stack is loaded.
If you load an image for which there is no matching lens, the program prompts you to create a new lens to match the image scaling. For more information, see Creating a lens.
