BG (background correction) AcquireBackground correction

Background images are used to correct illumination.

1. Click Acquire>Display>Live Image.
2. Click Acquire>Background Correction>BG Acquire.
3. In the Acquire Background Image window, select the most suitable options (described below) and click OK.

Acquire Background Image Options

Type of background correction

• Brightfield background image: see Capturing a background image for slide scanning(brightfield only)
• Fluorescent background image: see Slide scanning: Troubleshooting for fluorescence

Multichannel options

• Multichannel: Multichannel control
• Pause between channels: Available if the Multichannel option is selected. Select this option to generate alerts each time a channel has been acquired, so that you can make any changes or adjustments to the image.

Enable background correction

This option is "on" by default. It is useful to correct illumination in brightfield images and extremely valuable when scanning slides to create virtual slides. See Capturing a background image for slide scanning(brightfield only).
