Image Organizer

The Image Organizer is divided into three sections (tabs):

Images

Displays the location and status of each of the images that are open in the current tracing window and contains several features for manipulating the appearance of the images. It doesn't apply to markers or tracings.

The images are listed in the order in which they were opened. The most recent image is listed at the top and appears in front of the other images where they overlap.

ClosedEye icon and checkbox
  • Click a row and drag up or down to change the order of the images.
  • Click the eye icon to turn visibility for a given image on or off.
  • To move a single image with Move Image or Move Image and Tracing, check the checkbox.
  • To group images for use with Move Image, Move Image and Tracing, or Image Processing, check the checkbox for each image.
  • If your image does not move when using the joystick function, verify that the image is checked; only checked images are affected by the Move commands.
  • Use the Transparency Slider to adjust the transparency of an image.
ClosedShow Details
  • Check Show Details to display dimensions, z-depth (if the image is part of an image stack), type of image (RGB, Grayscale, Virtual Image mode), and file location.
  • Uncheck to display the file names only.
ClosedZ

Z is a Z-depth adjustment tool for manual adjustment.

  • Use in conjunction with the Serial Section Manager to match the display of the image with a specific serial section .
ClosedToolbar

Turns visibility on or off for all checked images.

Discards checked images.

Centers image in the Tracing window.

Moves image up or down in the Image Organizer list (you can also drag and drop the thumbnail).

Checks all images.

Un-checks all images.

Enables batch image processing and can only apply to images of the same type (e.g., RGB or grayscale).

  1. Click to enable image processing.
  2. Click Image>Image Processing and select an effect; the effect is applied to all the checked images.

Saves modified images.

Biolucida

Provides additional details on images loaded from a Biolucida server (Biolucida Server).

 

A selected image (highlighted in blue) is not the same as a checked image.
Only one image can be selected at a time while multiple images can be checked (for deletion, application of image effects, and hiding of images).
The selected image is the image that is used for File>Image Save/Image Save As and Image>Linear Pixel Plot/Pixel Window.
