Virtual Image Mode

In the Image Organizer, Stereo Investigator specifies "(Virtual Image Mode)" in the image details.

Messages may be displayed indicating that you that you are in virtual image mode.

In virtual image mode, Stereo Investigator only loads the area of the image that you see displayed in the Tracing window.

When you navigate to a different area in the image or when you zoom in or out, Stereo Investigator loads the corresponding area and displays it in the Tracing window.

Here are some of the implications:

• When you use File>Image Save/Image Save As, you save the area of the image displayed in the Tracing window, not the entire image.
  • You can select an image resolution from a list of resolutions .
  • The list is generated by Stereo Investigator and based on the image's full size.
• Luminance information only applies to the area of the image displayed in the Tracing window.
• Image>Image Processing and Image>Image Size are not applicable.
• Image Adjustment: the saving process varies depending on the image type (Saving image adjustments only).

• Click Options>Virtual Image Options.

The .pff format is loaded in standard mode (i.e., not in virtual image mode) unless you specify that you want to use the virtual image mode whenever possible.

• Click Options>General Preferences.
• Select the Imaging tab.
• Check the Use Virtual Image mode when possible checkbox .

Yes, you can if you do the following:

• Click Options>General Preferences.
• Select the Imaging tab.
• Check the Use Virtual Image mode when possible checkbox .

You can save a single image from a stack (current plane) or projection images at full resolution.
