Slide scanning overview

With the slide scanning module (2D or 3D), you can scan at any magnification and create high resolution 2D images or 3D stacks.

Before you start, make sure that you have a properly calibrated system to obtain high-quality images.

First, a series of individual image tiles are scanned using a motorized stage. The tiles are then merged to form a single image montage called a virtual slide.

Procedure

  1. Preparing your workspace
  2. Tracing the region of interest
  3. Adjusting camera (and multichannel) settings
  4. Capturing a background image (brightfield only)
  5. Adjusting the scanning settings
  6. Setting up a focus map (2D and 3D images)
  7. Scanning & compiling the image
