Serial Section Reconstruction from Images (Procedure 2)

Use these instructions if you have one section per image and contours are already traced. Scaling should be identical for all the images.

If contours need to be traced, consult this alternate procedure.

1. Organize sections:
   • Use File>Open Files into Serial Sections to open the desired sections.
2. Register and align sections:
   1. In the Serial Section Manager, select Display Current Section Only and Display Flanking Sections .
      • Display Flanking Sections lets you view the tracings of the previous and subsequent sections.
   2. Highlight the 2nd section in the Serial Section Manager.
   3. Select Move Images and Tracing and drag to align with the first section.
   4. Refine the alignment using the Select Object or Match method.
   5. Highlight the next section in the Serial Section Manager.
   6. Repeat Steps c-e until all sections are aligned.
