Marker to Vessel

Purpose

Marker to Vessel analyzes the spatial relationship between markers and vessels including shortest distance between each marker and each vessel segment, as well as marker diameter and marker location coordinates. Data is broken down by listing the distance between each marker and the first vessel segment, then the distance between each marker and the second vessel segment, etc.

This report can be used with markers that are "attached" to nearby vessels in the main (2D) window of Neurolucida, Neurolucida 360, or Vesselucida 360 (it cannot be done in the 3D environment). If Report attached markers only is selected, the results will include only the distance between each marker and the vessel segment it is attached to, it will not include its distance to all other vessel segments.

Analysis results

Marker: Marker name.

Network: The name of the network the segment belongs to.

Segment ID: The numerical identification of the segment.

Distance to segment (µm): The shortest distance between the marker and the surface of the vessel segment.

Marker diameter (µm): The diameter of the marker.

Marker coordinate: The X,Y,Z location of the marker.

Attached to vessel?: Indicates whether the marker is attached to the vessel or not.

Attaching markers to vessels

  1. In the Main (2D) window of Neurolucida, Neurolucida 360, or Vesselucida 360, select the markers to be attached.
  2. Right-click and select Attach Markers to Object.
  3. Click to select the vessel to which you want to attach markers.
  4. Once attached, markers and vessel segment are highlighted with small squares.
