Virtual image mode
All very large images (larger than 2500 by 2500 pixels) are loaded in virtual image mode.
In the Image Organizer, the program specifies "(Virtual Image Mode)" in the image details.
Messages may be displayed indicating that you that you are in virtual image mode.
In virtual image mode, the program only loads the area of the image that you see displayed in the Tracing window.
When you navigate to a different area in the image or when you zoom in or out, the corresponding area is loaded and displayed in the Tracing window.
Here are some of the implications:
- When you use File>Save>Image, you save the area of the image displayed in the Tracing window, not the entire image.
- Luminance information only applies to the area of the image displayed in the Tracing window.
- Image Processing and Image resize are not applicable.
- Image Adjustment: the saving process varies depending on the image type.
The .pff format is loaded in standard mode (i.e., not in virtual image mode) unless you specify that you want to use the virtual image mode whenever possible.
- Go to File>Preferences.
