Prepare for external image source

Use this command when you plan on loading images from an external image source and you don't have control of the stage.

This will give you temporary control of the stage at the time of acquisition and allow Microlucida to calculate the correct placement and scaling.

Prerequisites

You have already entered the dimensions of the external image source and check the box Loading from external source... in the External Image Source Setup panel.

To acquire an image

  1. Click Acquire>Capture>Prepare external to gain control the stage.
  2. Acquire the image with the third-party program.

The program applies the settings defined via External Image Source Setup.

  3. Upon applying those settings, the program switches to the Show images mode which enables you to zoom in on the image and pan around the image without moving the stage.

Prepare external is disabled; you no longer have control of the stage.

To acquire and load another image from your external image source

Click Prepare external again to regain control of the stage.
