Maximum / Minimum intensity projection

To visualize an entire image stack in a single plane, use the Maximum intensity projection with light-on-dark images (e.g., fluorescence) or Minimum intensity projectionwith dark-on-light images (e.g., brightfield). To display the projection, BrainMaker software identifies the maximum (or minimum) intensity value of each pixel along the z axis for projection onto the 2D plane.

See Deep Focus for a similar, alternative method.

  • Click the Min (or Max) projection button, located in the View section of the Image ribbon, to display the projection rather than the original image.
  • To view the original image stack again, click the icon again.
