Biolucida users overview
Types of accounts
Administrator
Administrators can manage all aspects of Biolucida: users, images and interface.
Viewer
Viewers do not have access to the Admin menu. The range of functionalities available to Viewers depends on the role assigned by the administrator:
- Maintainer: Permission to create and manage image folders (
- Viewer: Permission to browse and view images.
Contributor
Contributors have access to all the functionalities available to viewers-maintainers (see Viewers section above); in addition they have the ability to upload images.
User Groups
Administrators can create user groups to set permissions for

You want to allow all the students enrolled in Histology 101 access to the Biolucida classroom Histology 101.
→ Create a user group based on the Histology 101 roster.
Shared user accounts
With a shared user account, multiple users share the same username and password (e.g., student account).
