Add files to the Biolucida server
You can use tracked directories to make local images (i.e., images stored on a computer) accessible through the Biolucida server (administrators only), or you can upload local images onto the server (administrators and contributors only).
- Click Upload in the blue toolbar.
- Click then click . Optional: Create a new folder to save the file by clicking the + button on the left.
You can only view image files supported by Biolucida.
- To view the files location, click to return to the browser. The files are listed under Tracked Directories>All>"User name" Images>images.
For large images, the process is three-fold: 1) the program reads a chunk of the file, 2) the program uploads the chunk, 3) once all chunks have been uploaded, the program compiles the chunks to recreate the image.
You can use the Biolucida Connector in BrainMaker and Neurolucida 360 to save data files onto the server. The data files can then be shared with colleagues using MBF Bioscience applications.
- From BrainMaker or Neurolucida 360, go to File > Biolucida Server.
- In the Biolucida Server window, click Connect to Cloud and enter your login information to open the server.
- Select an image file to open from the Biolucida server.
- Create tracings.
- Go to File>Save data file as. From Save as type, select "Biolucida Cloud (*.blc).
- To view the data file, return to the Biolucida server. The file is listed under Tracked Directories>All>"User name" Files>files.
Since the tracked directories and uploads are only visible to the administrator(s) or contributor(s), the next step is to organize images in collections to make the images potentially accessible to other users.
