2. Set system to low magnification

The options available at this step depend on the image source you selected in the previous step.

If your image source is: LIVE VIDEO

Use your microscope to make the image an appropriate size for tracing.

  1. Switch to a low power objective on your microscope, such as 2x or 4x.
  2. Select the corresponding lens from the Select Low Mag Lens drop-down menu.

The objective should show a substantial portion of your region of interest in the field of view and is suitable for tracing a contour around your region of interest. If it is difficult to distinguish the anatomical borders of your region of interest at a low magnification, use a higher magnification for tracing.

Use the zoom buttons to size the image so that you can effectively trace regions of interest at the next step.
