Prepare for External Image Source

Use this command when you plan on loading images from an external image source and you don't have control of the stage.

This will give you temporary control of the stage at the time of acquisition and allow Stereo Investigator to calculate the correct placement and scaling.

Prerequisites

You have already entered the dimensions of the external image source via External Image Source Setup.

To acquire an image

Click Acquisition>Prepare for External Image Source.
- You effectively gain control the stage.
Acquire the image with the third-party program.
- Stereo Investigator applies the settings defined via External Image Source Setup.
Upon applying those settings, Stereo Investigator switches to the Display Acquired Image mode which enables you to zoom in on the image and pan around the image without moving the stage.
- Prepare for External Image Source is disabled (i.e., unchecked in the menu); you no longer have control of the stage.

To acquire and load another image from your external image source

Click Prepare for External Image Source again to regain control of the stage.
