Prepare for External Image Source

Use this command when you plan on loading images from an external image source and you don't have control of the stage.

This will give you temporary control of the stage at the time of acquisition and allow Stereo Investigator to calculate the correct placement and scaling.

Prerequisites

To acquire an image

  1. Click Acquisition>Prepare for External Image Source.
    • You effectively gain control the stage.
  2. Acquire the image with the third-party program.
  3. Upon applying those settings, Stereo Investigator switches to the Display Acquired Image mode which enables you to zoom in on the image and pan around the image without moving the stage.
    • Prepare for External Image Source is disabled (i.e., unchecked in the menu); you no longer have control of the stage.
