Acquire Background Image

Background images are used to correct illumination.

 

1. Click Image>Live Image.
2. Click Image>Acquire Background Image; Stereo Investigator displays the Acquire Background Image window.
3. Select the most suitable options (described below) and click OK.

Acquire Background Image Options

Type of background correction

• Brightfield background image: see Virtual Tissue Step 4—Acquiring a Background Image (Brightfield)
• Fluorescent background image: see Virtual Tissue—Troubleshooting Imaging Issues (Fluorescence)

 

Multichannel options

• Multichannel: Video Tool Panels: Multichannel Control
• Pause between channels: Available if the Multichannel option is selected. Select this option to generate alerts each time a channel has been acquired, so that you can make any changes or adjustments to the image.

 

Enable background correction

This option is "on" by default. It is useful to correct illumination in brightfield images and extremely valuable when using Virtual Tissue to create virtual slides. Virtual Tissue (slide scanning): Acquiring a background Image (Brightfield)
