Acquire SRS Image Stack Series
An SRS image stack series is a progression of Z-stack images acquired in a systematic and random fashion.
The thin depth of field in these stacks creates images suitable for offline stereological analysis. This is particularly useful for examining fluorescent tissue.
An SRS image stack series eliminates some of the common obstacles that occur with live fluorescent tissue and time consuming stereological analysis, including:
- Fading of fluorescent markers at high magnification.
- Bleaching of fluorophores before analytical decisions are made regarding the identity of labeled cells.
Other benefits of an SRS Image Stack Series include the ability to:
- Analyze image stacks in a leisurely time frame without fear of signal degradation.
- Free up microscopy hardware for other users or analyses.
- Provide a digital record of tissues being sampled for stereological analysis.
