Message Device Setup

For a better understanding of this tool, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with Device Command Sequence Setup first.

Use this tool if you have a non-motorized microscope to define alerts/instructions (referred to as messages) to perform a series of manual adjustments to your microscope.

To create a sequence of messages

Create a series of messages for each microscope piece to adjust.
1. Click Options>Message Device Setup. Neurolucida displays the Message Device Setup dialog box.
2. Click Add.
3. Enter a name and text for the message in the Message of Message Device dialog box. Click OK.
4. Repeat a. and b. for each new message and click OK once all the messages have been created .
Define a Device Command Sequence to display the messages in the order corresponding to the order of the manual adjustments.

To use the sequence of messages

Select the name of your sequence of messages from the Device drop-down menu in the toolbar .
The first message appears in a pop-up window. Perform the task outlined in the message and click OK.
Repeat for each message in the sequence.
