Add Scalebar
Use Add Scalebar to:
- add a scalebar to your tracing
- embed a scalebar in an image
- display an onscreen scalebar while using MBF software.
To add a scalebar
- Click Edit>Add Scalebar; the Scalebar Settings dialog box appears
. - Enter the appropriate settings and click OK.
- Click in the tracing window to place the scalebar; the scalebar is centered on the point you selected.
By default, the scalebar is now a part of your tracing.
To manipulate a scalebar
- Click Edit>Select Objects.
- Click the scalebar to select it.
- Right-click to access options

- Embed into Image: If an image is open and selected in the Image Organizer, the selected scalebar can be embedded in that image for publication.
- If part of the scalebar is placed outside of the image, the scalebar cannot be embedded into the image.
Once a scalebar has been embedded, it becomes part of the image and it is no longer possible to change its properties or move it around. - Keep Scalebar Onscreen: locks a scalebar to its current position. It will always remain in the same location on the screen, even when the rest of the tracing is moved.
- Change Scalebar Settings: Edit the color, text, or size of the scalebar.
- Embed into Image: If an image is open and selected in the Image Organizer, the selected scalebar can be embedded in that image for publication.
