Identifying anatomical structures

Use the Atlas ontology to automatically identify structures once you've registered a section. The ontology provides a comprehensive list of anatomical structures.

To view the ontology, toggle to the Atlas Ontology panel in the Section Registration window.

There are two ways to delineate and identify a region:

  • Click the Select region button.
  • Find the desired structure in the ontology list and check the corresponding checkbox.

Tips

  • To see substructures, click the + button.
  • To find a structure in the list, use the Search bar.
  • For help in identifying search terms, hover your mouse over the reference or the experimental section; you will see the names of the corresponding anatomical areas.
